Yvonne was born November 18,1942 at Ryburn Memorial Hospital, Ottawa, IL the second of five daughters born to Byron and Mayme (Twait) Hoxsey.

Yvonne was a 1961 graduate of Serena High School.

She was introduced to Thomas W. Joslin by her sister Marcia when Tommy rode in on horseback for The Sandwich Centennial Pageant in 1959. They were married at the Hauge Lutheran Church, Norway, IL on September 9,1961 and were happily married for 64 years.

Yvonne spent many years as a farm wife, Mom and Grandma on Rock Creek Farm, Plano. She later worked at the jewelry counter at Walmart in Plano.

Yvonne was a voracious reader and an accomplished shopper. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends SHOPPING and doing lunch. She loved family get togethers, especially during the holidays. She was always the gracious hostess for the revolving door of family and friends who would drop in when she and Tommy, and Marcia and Bernie took camping trips to Blackhawk Campground and Hi-Tide.

She was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Plano.

Yvonne is survived by her husband Tommy, Sandwich. Her daughters Debbie (Bill) Roberts, Plano; and Julie (the late Robert) Hanks, Edwardsville, IL. Her grandchildren Zachary (Alyssa) Roberts of Batavia, IL (great grandchildren Fiona, Tyson and Mia); Jacob (Jordan) Roberts of Channahon, IL (great grandchildren Madison, Mackenzie and Melanie); Katherine (Phil) Horwitz of North Aurora, IL; David Hanks, Fairview Heights, IL; Keith Hanks, Godfrey, Il; Breanna (Tyler) Johnson (great grandson Leo) and Johnathan Hanks, Edwardsville, IL. Her sisters Janet Ratcliff, Morris, IL; Cindy Bailey and Linda Cunningham, Benton, MO,

She is preceded in death by her parents, her in laws Tom and Frances Joslin, her sister Marcia and husband Bernie Chapman, nephew Jeff Chapman all of Earlville, and son in law Robert Hanks.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Plano, IL. A Service in Yvonne’s honor will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at the funeral home in Plano, IL. Burial will follow at Precinct Cemetery in Earlville, IL.
