Wilma M. Johnson

Wilma M. Johnson, 94, of Leland, IL passed away Thursday, June 29, 2023 at Valley West Hospital in Sandwich, IL. She was born November 28, 1928 in Ottawa, IL the daughter of Maynard and Jewell (Smith) Johnson. She married Francis E. Johnson on January 25, 1948 in Baker, IL. She was a member of St. Petrie Lutheran Church in Baker, IL. Wilma spent many years teaching Sunday Scholl and playing the piano. She loved antiquing, decorating, and baking. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Wilma is survived by one daughter, Pam (Barry) Whitcraft of Leland, IL; one son, Ken (Barb) Johnson of Yorkville, IL; six grandchildren, Jeff (Monda) Denault of Somonauk, IL, Dan (Kelly) Denault of Somonauk, IL, Jenni Whitcraft of Colorado, Greg (Candy) Johnson of Yorkville, IL, T.J. (Andrea) Johnson of Riverside, IL, Matt Johnson of Yorkville, IL; nine great-grandchildren, Jordan, Emily, Abigail, Brooke, Cole, Grayson, Joe, Nels and Leif; and three nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Francis; and one brother, Roger Johnson.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., noon on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at St. Petrie Lutheran Church in Leland, IL. Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m., noon, on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at St. Petrie Lutheran Church in Leland, IL with Rev. Gerald Steele officiating. Burial will follow at Baker Cemetery in rural Leland, IL. Memorials may directed to St. Petrie Lutheran Church or Baker Cemetery Association.
