Wilma “Jean” Pirofalo, 84, of Somonauk, IL passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2023 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 2, 1939 in Dyersburg, TN the daughter of James Cletus Goshorn and Ester Lee Powers. She married the love of her life of 47 years, Ernest A. Pirofalo on August 10, 1963 in Cook County, IL. Jean was a devote Christian and a woman of faith. She loved to travel, camp in the great outdoors and go fishing with her family. When you couldn’t find her outside, she loved cooking, baking, crocheting and quilting. She loved shopping online and playing Hayday on her tablet. One of her favorite past times was relaxing with her beloved dog, Precious. She loved to go out to eat and get crab legs. Most of all she loved spending time with her friends and family, especially her great grandkids.
Jean is survived by her children, Ernest (Sandra) Pirofalo, Marjorie (Jose “Onesimo”) Gomez, adopted son, Michael (Michelle) Gould, Sr. of Plano and adopted daughter, Martha Jean of TN; grandchildren, Ernie Ray (Stacie) Pirofalo of Plano and Norman James (Heather) Pirofalo of Sandwich, Amanda Faye Gould of Plano, Venessa Jean Gomez of Somonauk, Jessica Marie Gomez of Somonauk, Savannah Lee Gomez of Somonauk, Candy Bell of CT, Angel Pirofalo of Chicago, and Victor "Dude" (Sabrina) Pirofalo, Jr. of Chicago; great-grandchildren, Ernie Alan, Dustin (Maggie), Haley (Jamie), Jesse, Dezirae (Jesse), Austin, Caleb Zane, Bradley James, Josiah Anthony and Odin Abbott; many great great grandchildren; close nieces, Mickey, Kathy Marie and Rhonda Jean; special close friends, Sandy Cobb whom was her best friend of 50 years, Connie Kitchens and Terri Klenzman.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband the love of her life, Ernest; stepdad, Maurice Voss; sisters, Wanda Faye Rogers and Helen Marie Manring; and a great-nephew, James Voss.
Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk, IL with a funeral service to follow at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Reverend Keven Foulk officiating.
