Wilma V. Hunter, 80, of Lake Holiday, Somonauk, IL passed away Sunday, June 19, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 14, 1935 in Kincaid, Saskatchewan, Canada, the daughter of Frank and Katie (Dotzler) Church. She married Fred Hunter on March 28, 1959 in Moosejaw, Saskatchewan, Canada. Wilma was a member of the United Church of Sandwich. She enjoyed needlepoint, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Fred of Somonauk, IL; one daughter, Susan (John) Galles of Sheridan, IL; one son, Edward (Jennifer) Hunter of Chicago, IL; five grandchildren, Katie, Mitchell, Samantha (Alex), Lillie and Ian; one sister, Joyce Church of Vancouver, Canada; three brothers, Gerald (Alynn) Church of Calgary, Canada, Gary Church of Saskatoon, Canada and Alan Church of Alberta, Canada; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 24, 2016 at United Church of Sandwich in Sandwich, IL with Pastor Steven Mindrup officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Sandwich, IL. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at the church in Sandwich.
