Wilma F. Boltz, 90, of Earlville, IL passed away Friday, March 24, 2017 at OSF St. Paul Medical Center in Mendota, IL. She was born March 20, 1927 in Aurora, IL the daughter of Theodore and Julia Losey Cromer. She married Ronald O. Boltz on November 18, 1951 at her parent’s home in La Grange, IL. Wilma was a member of Earlville Immaneul Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school, she was the Sunday school superintendent, active in the Ruth Circle and the Alter Guild. She was the first woman to serve on the Earlville city council and also served on the Earlville School Board. Wilma was active in the Generation Exchange at the school and the LaSalle Co. TB Association. She was a member of the Mendota Junior Woman’s Club where she was a state officer for a time. Wilma was on the Steering Committee for the 100th and the 125th anniversary of Earlville. She found balance in her careers as an H & R Block tax preparer and as a florist. In her free time, Wilma enjoyed crossword puzzles and word searches but her greatest love of all was spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald of Earlville, IL; one daughter, Julianne Boltz of Centralia, IL; one son, John Jenny Boltz of Earlville, IL; three grandchildren, Kevin Kelsi Boltz of Sycamore, IL, Courtney Boltz of Milwaukee, WI, and Kelsey Andy Stegman of Sheridan, IL; two great grandchildren, Bryce Boltz and Brooks Stegman and one on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Lisa Kay Hanson, three sisters, Lolita Cromer, Doris Mitchell, and June Faber, and one brother, Theodore Cromer.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 27, 2017 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Earlville, IL with Pastor Tammy Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Precinct Cemetery in Earlville. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. at the church.
