William Smith Westbrook, 85, of Somonauk, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2011 in Sandwich Nursing and Rehabilitation. He was born September 9, 1925 in Chicago, IL the son of William A. and Mildred (Smith) Westbrook. He married Betty LaBolle on August 30, 1947 at the United Presbyterian Church of Somonauk. He was a member of United Presbyterian Church of Somonauk having served as an Elder, Sunday School teacher and was a big part of Somonauk Baptist Church and school, a U.S. Navy Veteran in WWII and a State Farm Insurance Agent in Sandwich for over 47 years.
He is survived by his wife, Betty of Somonauk; three daughters, Kathleen (Robert) Fredrick of Somonauk, Pamela (Bruce) Kohler of Sandwich, Susan (Terry) Eipers of Plano; three sons, William (Becki) Westbrook of Sandwich, Douglas (Tammi) Westbrook of Somonauk, Charles (Pam) Westbrook of Lockport; nine grandchildren; one sister, Margaret Hedreen of Seattle WA; one brother, David (June) Westbrook of Somonauk.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Richard and Charles Westbrook and one infant sister, Kathleen Westbrook.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 11, 2011 at the United Presbyterian Church of Somonauk with Pastor David Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Mound Cemetery in Somonauk. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk.
