William H. Russell, 75, of Harding, IL passed away Thursday, November 5, 2009 in Ottawa Regional Hospital and Healthcare Center in Ottawa, IL. He was born August 5, 1934 in Jackson, MS the son of Henry and Unice Russell. He married Shirley R. Stewart on November 2, 1956 in Chicago, IL. Bill had a passion for music and loved performing. He was a member of NIBA. Bill worked as a correction officer for over twenty years at Sheridan Correctional Facility retiring in 1991.
He is survived by his wife Shirtley; his children, Brenda (Albert) Morajka of Chicago, IL, William Russell of Boston, MA, Janet Morajka of Summit, IL, Brian (Maryann) Russell of Plainfield, IL, Allen Russell of Boston, MA, Roberta Grossmann of Crowne Point, IN, Jennifer (James) Kruger of Streator, IL, and Kelly (Michael) Pile of Streator, IL, sixteen grandchildren; two sisters, Carlyn and Shirley; three brothers, Joe, Jerry, and Prentiss, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and two sisters.
