William “Bill” R. Niles, 64, of Sheridan, IL passed away Thursday, May 4, 2017 at his home. He was born June 17, 1952, the son of Paul and Leona Hatton Niles. He married Kathy Ness on June 21, 2007 in Sheridan. Bill was a member of the Sandwich Moose Lodge #1016. He enjoyed hunting, the outdoors, his puppies Toots and Otis, his family but his greatest love of all was his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy of Sheridan, IL; two sons, Brian Andrea Niles of Leland, IL and Dennis Carrie Niles of Harding, IL; five grandchildren, Jacob, Julia, Caden, Jace, and Trevor; three sisters, Glenda Michaelson of Alexandria, MN, Ruth Jump of MO, and Martha Bill Nixon of Knoxville, IL; four brothers, Tom Jewel Niles of Plano, IL, Mark Niles of Watseka, IL, George Pam Niles of AR, and Ken Laura Niles of Plainfield, IL; his mother-in-law, Rita Ness of Hinckley, IL; one brother-in-law, Dan Claudia Ness of Leland, IL; one sister-in-law, Karen Scott Hill of Winnebago, IL; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Paul Niles, his father-in-law, Joseph Ness, and one brother-in-law, Stan Michaelson.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk, with Officiant Matthew Yingling. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Hinckley, IL. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Somonauk.
