William C. Meyer, 62; on Thursday, September 27, 2012 his weary heart went to rest with the Lord at his residence in Lake Holiday. He was born September 3, 1950 in Oak Park, IL the son of Clarence and Jacqueline (Simon) Meyer. Bill enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, The Bears, The Cubs, and The Blackhawks but his greatest love was his children and granddaughter. He enjoyed Christian, oldies and country music. He also enjoyed hosting the annual family Christmas reunion. He was a member of the US Navy serving on the USS Brewton during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his mother: Jacqueline (Franklin) Swan of Paw Paw; Father: Clarence (Delores) Meyer of Payson, AZ; two daughters: Michelle (Erik) Jones of Somonauk and Kathleen Meyer of Elgin; one son: Brian Meyer of Seoul, South Korea; one granddaughter: Leah Jones of Somonauk; three sisters: Carol (Vincent) Zito of Sandwich, Dawn (William) Sundstrom of Loṙṙach, Germany and Sheryl (Meyer) Ruiz of Gilbert, AZ; two brothers: Douglas (Diane) Meyer of Paw Paw and Scott (Karen) Meyer of Antioch; his significant other: Marilyn Haag of Somonauk and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his step-father, Richard D’Amato.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 1, 2012 at Paw Paw Bible Church in Paw Paw with Pastor Jonathon Chadbourn officiating. Burial will follow in Wyoming Cemetery in Paw Paw, IL. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 30, 2012 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk.
