William R. Mcdowell

William T. McDowell, 77, of Earlville, IL passed away Thursday, December 8, 2016 at OSF St. Paul Medical Center in Mendota, IL. He was born July 6, 1939 in Chicago, IL, the son of William Thomas and Ruth Louise Broker McDowell. He married Marguerita “Rita” Janowicz on December 15, 1996 in Naperville, IL. Bill was a salesman in advertising and helped Rita raise alpacas. He was an excellent husband and a great friend.
He is survived by his wife, Rita of Earlville, IL; one son, William Crystal McDowell of Peoria, AZ; six step children, Susan James Jennings of Charlotte, NC, Patrick Chris Janowicz of Downers Grove, IL, Pamela Doug Gray of Matthews, NC, Amy Trig Day of Round Rock, TX, Mary John Riley of Sycamore, IL and Nancy Janowicz of Glendale Heights, IL; two grandchildren, Michael McDowell and William McDowell; twelve step grandchildren; several great grandchildren; one sister, Viola Gordon of Naperville, IL; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, two daughters, Joanne McDowell and one infant daughter, one brother, James McDowell and one brother-in-law, Robert Gordon.
Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, December 16, 2016 at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Earlville with Father Joel Phelps officiating. Burial will follow at St. Theresa Catholic Cemetery in Earlville. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 noon at the church in Earlville.
