Bill began his new life in eternity in the place prepared for him by his Lord Jesus Christ on July 4, 2014. He departed the Earth from Presence Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, IL. He was 85 years old, born November 21, 1928 in Aurora, Illinois. Most of his life was lived in Yorkville.
He was preceded into eternity by his wife Barbara, his father William while he was a sophomore at Yorkville High School (44), his mother Erna (Ingemunson) (84) and his sister LaVine Lee; survived by his wife, Marilyn; son, Bill; daughter, Brenda (Brent) Pearson and two granddaughters, Elizabeth and Grace.
Bill worked as a college professor of statistics and mathematics as well as an academic adviser at Joliet College for 40 years. He was a Korean Veteran, awarded the Korean Service Medal, United Nations medal and the National Defense Medal for his service in the United States Army. He had top secret clearance level during his military service. For many years Bill was a church council member and a Sunday school teacher at First Lutheran Church in Plano, Illinois.
Following graduation form Yorkville High School (47), Bill earned a B.S. degree from the University of Illinois (51) followed by an M.S. degree (58).
He was a member of American Legion Post 489, a life member and former officer of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Kendall County Torch of Liberty Post 8234 and a member of the Cooties, Pup Tent 82. Ham Radio was a long time hobby for Bill since 1967. Radio was a great past time for him. His radio call was WA9SZY. His beekeeping, which began when he was 11- years-old, permitted him to give honey to friends and neighbors throughout his life. In college he was a professional musician for several years.
Bill’s summer log cabin in northern Wisconsin on Lac Sault Dore was a place for him and his family and friends to fish, swim and enjoy boating. Many joyful summers were spent there. When weather cooled, bill would enjoy lots of haunts on the Gulf of Mexico.
