William G. Johnson, 64, of Sandwich passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at his home. He was born September 28, 1952 in Sioux City, IA, the son of Donald and Joanne Hall Johnson. He married Karla Burkhart on February 17, 1978 in Sioux City, IA. Bill was a Beatles fan, Blackhawks fan and a Cubs fan. He was a member of the 185th Air Guard in Sioux City, IA. Bill was employed at Schwan’s Sales and Home Delivery for over 25 years.
He is survived by his wife, Karla of Sandwich, IL; three daughters, Heather Andy Holmes of Yorkville, IL, Amber Sergio Arenas of Norfolk, NE, and Shanna Johnson of Bolingbrook, IL; two sons, Jason Johnson of Steamboat Springs, CO and Brandon Greta Rogers of Sioux City, IA; thirteen grandchildren; two brothers, Kevin Johnson of Sioux City, IA and Doug Beverly Johnson of Hereford, AZ; one sister-in-law, Sally Johnson of Sioux City, IA.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jeff Johnson.
Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 17, 2017 at Burkhart-Eighner Funeral Home in Sandwich, IL. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service on Monday, April 17, 2017 at the funeral home in Sandwich. Memorials may be directed to the charity of one’s choice.
