William James Sinkler, 81, of Sandwich, IL passed away Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, IL. He was born April 27, 1933 in Chicago, IL the son of William August and Mildred Louise (Hagenberg) Sinkler. He married Elizabeth Ann Lillie on June 17, 1972 in Chicago. He was a member of Living Heritage Lutheran Church in Plano, American Legion in Madison, WI, IBEW in Washington, DC for 38 years. William was a veteran of the US Army having served in the Korean War.
He is survived by two step-daughters, Elizabeth M. (Michael) Jensen and Cynthia C. (William) Countryman; one step-son, Milton G. (Marianne) Lillie; six step-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Elizabeth, and one sister, Bernice Dudak.
Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m., Monday, March 9, 2015 at Living Heritage Lutheran Church (Turner-Eighner Funeral Home) 3952 Turner Ave. Plano, IL 60545, with Pastor James Barbi officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., Monday, March 9, 2015 in the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to Living Heritage Lutheran Church.
