William R. Hartline, 69, of Newark, IL passed away Sunday, May 22, 2016 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 14, 1947 in Anna, IL, the son of Leon M. and Esta Ruth Nimmo Hartline. He married Ruth A. Severson on October 15, 1977 in Millington, IL. He worked at Bagwill TV and Hardware in Somonauk, IL for several years, Indian Valley Vocational Center in Sandwich for 11 years and at Sandwich School District for 10 years. He enjoyed fishing, antiquing, traveling, metal detecting, the outdoors, and was an avid fan of his grandchildren sporting events. William’s greatest love of all was his family.
He is survived by his wife Ruth of Newark, two daughters, Emily Kyle Lewis of Royalton, IL and Mary James Shannon of Serena, IL, three grandchildren, Haley, Cole and Austin. Three sisters, Mary Lott of Chester, IL, Mae Lee of DeKalb, IL and Nancy Tweed of Greenville, TN, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Buddy, Wayne and Don Hartline, two sisters, Shirley Tuftee and Betty Jones, and one nephew Joseph Fite.
Memorial services will be held at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Burkhart-Eighner Funeral Home in Sandwich, IL with Chaplain Christopher E. Ausler officiating.
