William D. "Bill" Bantz

William D. “Bill” Bantz, 80, of Plano, Illinois passed away Sunday, September 2, 2018 at Willow Crest Nursing Pavilion in Sandwich, surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 9, 1938 in Peoria, IL the son of Clarence and Mary (Runyon) Bantz. He married Mary Arlene Keene on June 28, 1957 in Yates City, IL. In his younger years Bill was active in school bands and several drum and bugle corps. He enjoyed coaching girls softball teams for several years. Bill always loved watching his grandchildren’s sports and music activities. He enjoyed gardening and his many flowers in his yard. He was proud of all his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Arlene of 61 years of Plano; three children, Sue Killebrew of Montgomery, IL, Scott (Terri) Bantz of Sandwich, IL, and Steven Bantz of North Aurora, IL; six grandchildren, Kyle and Zachary Killebrew, Tyler (Jessica) and Alexandra Bantz, Jillian and Carson Bantz; three brothers, Harold Bantz of Columbia, IL, Gerald Bantz of Sandwich, IL, and Jim (Connie) Bantz of Collum, IL, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Bob Bantz, and two sisters-in-law, Betty Anne Bantz, and Sharron Bantz.

According to Bill’s wishes there will be no visitation, and Graveside Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Little Rock Township Cemetery Plano, IL, with a luncheon to follow at The Plano American Legion.
