William E. Allen

William Edward Allen, 86, of St. Louis, Missouri passed away Monday, May 17, 2021 in Symphony of Orchard Valley Nursing Home in Aurora, IL. He was born June 26, 1934 in St. Louis Missouri, the son of Fred and Louise (Windsor) Allen. He married Betty Mertens on November 17, 1956 in St. Louis, MO. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. He worked for Standard Oil Company/Amoco Oil his entire life in sales. "He loved his family", boating at Lake of Ozarks, golfing, and especially playing with his grandchildren. Never knew a stranger and everyone was his friend, he was known for his sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife Betty of 64 years; his two daughters, Laura Allen of Colorado Springs, CO., and Nancy (Bob) Reichert of Yorkville, IL; three grandchildren, Ashley (Genaro) Cabrera, Bobby Reichert, and Andrew Reichert; two brothers, Chuck Allen of St. Louis, MO, and Bill’s twin George (Sue) Allen of St. Louis, MO. And several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation was handled by Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Plano, IL. Entombment of his urn will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO with a service at a later date.
