Virginia Lee Whitlock

Virginia L. Whitlock, 75 , of Earlville, Illinois passed away, Saturday, February 22, 2014 at her home in Earlville. She was born September 14, 1938 in Earlville the daughter of Edward and Vera (Matison) Peterson. She married Russell W. Whitlock in Earlville, IL in 1955. She was a member of the Earlville United Methodist Church, The Earlville Country Club, The Eastern Star. While living in Earlville she owned and operated Ginny’s Beauty Shop for many years. She bought and refurbished antiques for herself and was a dealer at the Mercantile in Earlville. Virginia enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters; Rebecca (Mikael) Olsen of Bryan, Texas, Nancy (Don) Henegar of Dixon, IL, five grandchildren, Ashley of Peoria, IL, Alex (Jessica) of Virginia Beach, VA, and Brittany Henegar of Normal, IL, Christian and Peter Olsen of Texas, three great grandchildren, Julian and Audrina of VA, Nikki of TX; two sisters, Martha (Calvin) Sellers of Earlville, IL and Linda (Paul) Bonnette of Sandwich, IL; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Russell.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 1, 2014 at the Earlville United Methodist Church in Earlville, with the Pastor Linda Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Precinct Cemetery rural Earlville, IL. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, February 28, 2014 at Hanley-Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Earlville, IL.
