Virginia R. Hanna, 80, of Earlville, IL passed away Sunday, June 22, 2014 in Ottawa Pavilion in Ottawa, IL. She was born June 29, 1933 in Oak Park, IL the daughter of William and Martha (Adamski) Johnston. Virginia married John W. Hanna on February 23, 1957 in Oak Park, IL. She was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Earlville.
She is survived by two daughters, Cindy Martin of Knoxville, TN and Karen (Allen) Baum of Brookfield, IL; two sons, Mark W. (Lorrie) Hanna of Romeoville, IL and David (Margaret/Peggy) Hanna of Earlville, IL; five grandchildren, Josh Hanna, Amy (Jim) Piper, Earl (Katie) Baum, James Baum and David Baum; three great grandchildren, Caleb, Carly and Braydon; one sister Mary Ellen Kendle of Louisville, KY, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, one brother, William Johnston.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 221 W. Union St. Earlville, IL, with Rev. Bo Schmitt officiating. Burial will follow in St. Theresa Catholic Cemetery in Earlville. A gathering of family and friends will be from 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 25th in the church until the time of the Mass at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. Margaret’s Hospice in Spring Valley, IL.
