Victor Espinoza, 66, of Mineral, formerly of Plano, IL, passed away Sunday, August 27, 2023 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 1, 1957 in Brownsville, TX, the son of Manuel and Teresa (Lerma) Espinoza. He married Diane Nagy on July 2, 1976 in Plano. Victor had a passion for working with his hands, especially mechanics. When he was young, he rebuilt an engine and his love of cars grew with him. He was always willing to lend a hand in any way he could. Victor had an incredible sense of humor and would always be found with a smile, laugh and a great joke. He had a special place in his heart for animals and enjoyed listening to a variety of music. Victor was a social butterfly and would chat up anybody, anywhere given the opportunity. Most of all, Victor loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Espinoza of Mineral; his mother, Teresa Espinoza of Mineral; his children, Marci (Casimiro, Jr.) Gonzalez. of Plano and their children, Abel, Julia and Caleb; Alison (Joseph) Bejar of Kewanee and their children, Brendan and Coby; Adam (Jessie) Espinoza of Walnut and their children, Azayah and Ava; his siblings, Ray (Micki) Espinoza, Mike Espinoza, Maria (Tomas) Sanchez, Magdalena (Juan) Mendez, Margarita (Javier) Guajardo, Mela Espinoza, Minnie Espinoza, and Julia (Albert) Suniga; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Manuel Espinoza; his brother, Jessie Espinoza; and his nephew, Zachary Sterling.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Plano. A Funeral Service in Victor’s honor will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Plano. Burial will follow at Little Rock Township Cemetery in Plano.
