Timothy J. Humes, 46, of Somonauk, IL passed away Friday, November 20, 2009 at his home. He was born June 8, 1963 in DeKalb, IL, the son of Eugene and Terri Greenaway Humes. He married Krisanne Dinges on July 14, 1990 at Salem Lutheran Church in Sycamore. He was employed by Suter Company of Sycamore. He was employed by Suter Company of Sycamore. He was a member of St.Johns's Lutheran Church in Somonauk. He was a 1981 graduate of Dekalb High School. He went on to play football at both Benedictine University 1981-1982 and then at Northern Illinois University 1982-1983. He was an avid sports fan and golfer, and his great passion was coaching. Tim was a coach for numerous Somonauk organizations. During the inaugural year, he was instrumental in providing leadership and support for the Somonauk Nighthawks Youth Tackle Football, on which he was a board member. He was board member of Somonauk Summer Rec. and was and assistant coach for Somonauk High School Varsity Baseball. Tim was a member of the Somonauk Blue Stockings, a vintage baseball team and numerous other sporting activities. He enjoyed the time he spent coaching his daughter and her friends in the Princess League and his son and his friends in youth baseball.
Tim was a great son, brother, husband, and father. He touched the lives of many through his friends and all the athletes he coached.
He preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Virginia Greenaway and Calvin and Molly Humes.
