Timothy Nelson Copeland
9/26/90-7/29/22

Timothy Copeland, 31, of Sheridan, IL passed away unexpectedly July 29th, 2022 at his home due to complications from paraplegia.

He was born September 26th, 1990 in Maywood, IL to Jerry and Cathy Copeland of Sheridan.

His passion in his teen years was motocross racing and BMX biking. He was active with both until he became disabled. Tim then concentrated on transforming his BMW 335is into a race car. For the past two years he was making his dream come true by building a one-of-a-kind race car that he would soon race himself. It has been documented as far away as Cyprus in the Middle East for its performance. With the help of his "people", he was near the end of building the world's fastest N54 car. He knew he would set world records and was extremely excited to accomplish that dream. The first event was scheduled for August 2022.

Tim was an extremely kind and loving son, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend. He was the light of our lives; we will love and miss him always.

His proudest accomplishment was the birth of his daughter Katie. He lived his life with the hope of having a relationship with her, spoke of her endlessly, and loved her deeply.

Tim is survived by his daughter, Katie Lynn Meier; mother and father, Cathy and Jerry Copeland of Sheridan, IL; brothers Adam Copeland and Ben Copeland of Leland, IL; and sister Kallie (Nathan) Somers of Murfreesboro, TN. Uncle TimTum was treasured by his nieces Bryley and Darryn, as well as his nephews Ryker, Azaryah, and Caleb. He is also survived by his best friend Wyatt Hall of Leland, IL, who stuck by him through thick and thin; and his best feline friend, Linda; he also had a host of beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his sister Katie in 1982; paternal grandparents Dean (Pearl) Copeland and Lucille (Tony) Blazek; and maternal grandparents Raymond and Mary Bennington.

Visitation for Tim will be at Turner-Eighner Funeral home in Somonauk, IL on Thursday, August 4th from 5:00-7:00 PM. A private graveside service will be held at Little Indian Creek Cemetery, Leland, IL with Pastor Derek Johnsen from Harvest Chapel officiating.
