Thomas W. Riesterer, 79, of Edinburg, Texas passed away Sunday, September 17, 2017, at Senior Care in Edinburg, Texas. He was born October 3, 1937 in Chicago, IL, the son of Elmer & Agnes Riesterer. Thomas retired from Forum, after 40 plus years of service, he enjoyed fishing, and going yearly to Canada with his best friend, Hank Fitzpatrick. He was a die-hard Cubs fan and was ecstatic to see them win the 2016 World Series. He loved spending time at the family ranch and going to the movies with his wife, Yoli.
Thomas is survived by his wife, Yolanda Riesterer of Edinburg, TX; four children, James Gabrielle Riesterer of Pleasant Hill, IA, Debi Riesterer of Grayslake, IL, Cristina James Landrum, Jr. of Plano, IL, Brandon Tiffany Roman of Cincinnati, OH; and eight grandchildren; Jonathon, Jeremy, Kaylee, Kelcie, Joseph, Anisa, Allison and Abigail. Sister-in-law Anna Walter Villarreal, Brother-in-law’s: Juan Licha Pineda, Prudencio Lydia Pineda, and Arturo Pineda. As well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Plano, IL with Pastor Pastor Rob Hager officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Sandwich, IL. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at noon at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to: Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 1105 W Fern Ave, McAllen, TX, 78501, in memory of Tom where he served as the Treasurer for 13 years.
