Theresa M. Lonie, 89, of rural Earlville, IL passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 30, 1926 rural Earlville, IL the daughter of Walter M. and Mary Jane (Donohue) O’Rourke. She married Robert J. Lonie on August 30, 1945 in St. Theresa Catholic Church in Earlville. She was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing bridge and 500. Robert and Theresa lived on the family farm their entire life and they enjoyed traveling to see their children. Most of all she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn (Wally) Wilson of Moline, IL and Mary Ellen (Robert) Janousek of Glenns Ferry, ID; three sons, Robert F. Lonie of Earlville, Thomas (Linda) Lonie of Roseburg, OR and William (Kristi) Lonie of Earlville; 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and one more soon to be and 3 great great grandchildren; one sister, Sharon Barr of Mendota, IL and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Her husband Robert, two sisters, Rita Pitstick and Bernice Larkin, and one daughter-in-law Wendy Lonie.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 8, 2015 at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Earlville with Rev. Bo Schmitt officiating. Burial will follow in St. Theresa Catholic Cemetery in Earlville. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, June 7, 2015 at Hanley-Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Earlville. Prayer service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to St. Theresa Catholic Church in Earlville.
