Theresa Dorothy Boynton, 89, of Sandwich passed away Friday, November 6, 2015 at Alden Courts at Waterford in Aurora. She was born January, 12, 1926 in Aurora, the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Eck Baki. She married Robert Karns on May 18, 1949 in Naperville, IL and later married Eugene Boynton on April 24, 1993 in Oregon City, OR. Dorothy was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Christian Women’s Club at St. Paul’s, Royal Neighbors of America and N.C.O.A. She grew up in Naperville and attended St. Peter & Paul Grade School and graduated from Naperville High School.
She is survived by seven daughters, Mary Lou Peter Kreinbrink of Plano, IL, Frances Wayne Hubbs of Montgomery, IL, Paula Donald McQuillen of Yorkville, IL, Ruth Gerry Davis of Wheeler, MS, Lorrie Greg Kobliska Larson of Sugar Grove, IL, Donna Paul Bunge of Shabbona, IL and Jill Frank Ramsey Karns of Romeoville, IL; two sons, Michael Karns of Aurora, IL and Patrick Becky Karns of Sandwich, IL; fifteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both of her husbands, Robert and Eugene, one grandson, Patrick Karns, one great granddaughter, Kylee Davis, seven brothers and sisters, Nicholas Baki, Magdeline Chadwick, Elizabeth Boynton, Marie Kappel, Leona Conrad, Lorraine Olszewski and Phillip Baki.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Sandwich, with Rev. Gerard Christianson officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul’s Catholic Cemetery in Sandwich. Visitation will from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Memorials may be directed to Fox Valley Older Adults or St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church.
