Theodore F. Schorn

Theodore F. Schorn, 82, of Sandwich, IL passed away Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, FL. He was born September 5, 1931 in Chicago, IL the son of John and Johanna (Urso) Schorn. He married Geraldine Couch on March 5, 1955 in Chicago, IL. He later married Dorothy (Stull) Sucik on October 27, 2007 in Sandwich, IL. Theodore was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. He made the rank of Eagle Scout and spent 30 years with the Boy Scouts, even serving as a scout leader for many years. Ted proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1955 in an early defense warning system unit. His greatest love of all was his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Dorothy of Sandwich; six children, Theodore (Beverly) Schorn of Columbus, IN, Andrew (Maryann) Schorn of San Antonio, TX, Edward Schorn of Orlando, FL, David (Pamela) Schorn of Lynn Haven, FL, Philip (Catherine) Schorn of Grayslake, IL and Regina (John Foley) Cameron of Wooddale, IL; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Theresa Schafer of Elk Grove Village, IL and Joan (Dick) Schmidt of Addison, IL; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Geraldine, and brother, John.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Sandwich with Father Andrew Hougan officiating. Burial will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Burkhart-Eighner Funeral Home in Sandwich with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Memorials may be directed to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church or the charity of one’s choice.
