Sylvia Kay Mahan, 64, of Leland, IL passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL. She was born April 2, 1953 in Sandwich, IL, the daughter of Ralph and Claribel (Coultrip) Mahan. Sylvia stated working at Calcan in Leland and advanced herself into the homecare field until her health deteriorated. She loved making crafts and donated or sold them. Sylvia also enjoyed playing cards, BINGO, and Mexican Train.
She is survived by one daughter, Denise (George Eilbeck) Mahan of Leland, IL; one granddaughter, Angel Eilbeck; two sisters, Joan (William Logan) Atwell of Leland, IL and Cindy (Kenny) Petro of IN; three brothers, Mickey Mahan of Sandwich, IL, Karl Mahan, and Leon Mahan both of Dixon, IL; several nieces and nephews; and a very loving and caring special friend, Larry Zoglman of Sandwich, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Clarence and Bryan Mahan.
Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk, IL with Pastor Sandy Smith officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at the funeral home in Somonauk. Memorials may be directed to the family.
