Sue C. Thornton, 71, of Sandwich, IL passed away Sunday, March 21, 2021 at Spring Creek Nursing Home in Joliet, IL. She was born March 13, 1950 in Joliet, IL the daughter of Robert and Lucy (Swaney) Graham. She married Billy Wayne Thornton on October 28, 1967 in Kentucky. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and baking desserts. Most of all she loved spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her two daughters, Julie (Ricardo) Reyes of Millington, IL and Sheila (Christopher) Goodin of Sandwich, IL; five grandchildren, Ricardo (Krystina) Reyes, Jr. of Auburn, AL, Roberto (Jessica Key) Reyes of Millington, IL, Drew (Lindsey) Paris of Sugar Grove, IL Christopher (Chelsea) Goodin, Jr. of Oceanside, CA, and Joseph Goodin of Yorkville, IL; six great grandchildren, Payten Reyes, Brooke Paris, Jackson Reyes, Ava Reyes, Logan Goodin, and Paislee Goodin; one brother, Thomas (Judy) Graham of Plainfield, IL; two sisters, Patricia Ferguson of IL and Pamela (Richard) Montano of Phelan, CA; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Lucy Graham; her husband, Billy Wayne Thornton; one great grandson, Braxton Goodin; one sister, Sandra McCune; and one brother, Richard Graham.
Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m., noon on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Burkhart-Eighner Funeral Home in Sandwich, IL with Pastor Shayne Stoddard officiating. Burial will follow at Millington-Newark Cemetery in Millington, IL. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. noon on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Burkhart-Eighner Funeral Home in Sandwich, IL.
