He farmed all of his life in Harding and lived his entire life in the home in which he was born, except for his time in the military and the last months before his death in Peoria, AZ.
He was a very active member of Harding Methodist Church, a member for over 50 years of Freedom Lodge, and served on the Harding Cemetery, and the Harding Community Center Boards. He was an accomplished organist and also created many beautiful pieces of stained glass art.
He is survived by his wife Arlene of Peoria, AZ, two sons, Mark (Joyce) Wright of Georgetown, IL and Brian (Marla) Wright of Warrensburg, IL; three step-sons, Steven Shaver of Chesapeake, VA, Scott (Melissa) Shaver of Peoria, AZ, and Stuart (Vickie) Shaver of Indianapolis, IN; seven grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Marjorie Wright of Henderson, NV, and several nieces and nephews.
