Silverio M. Rosa, 81, of Plano, Il passed away Thursday, May 7, 2015 peacefully with his son, Robert by his side. He was born September 18, 1933 in Vieques, Puerto Rico the son of Silverio and Juana (Melendez) Rosa. He married Isabel Hernandez on April 4, 1953 in Chicago, IL. He was a great Chicago White Sox fan. Silverio was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean War, and he loved his country very much. He was a good father, great provider and worked hard to put his kids through school and to have their own home. He was known for his quick wit and funny sense of humor.
He is survived by two daughters, Gigi (Gus) Mesaaf of Plano, IL and Anita (Mark) Piotrowski of Frankfort, IL; four sons, Robert (Nan Burkhart) Rosa of Sandwich, IL, David (Alice) Rosa of San Antonio, TX, Andrew (Elaine) Rosa of North Riverside, IL and Rene` (Jovan) Rosa of Oak Park, IL; sixteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren; one brother, Osvaldo Rosa of Patterson, NJ; one sister-in-law, Juanita Hernandez of Romeoville, IL and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Isabel, and one brother-in-law Jaimia Hernandez.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, May 11, 2015 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Plano, IL. Burial will follow in Jericho Cemetery Sugar Grove, IL. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m., on Monday in the funeral home until the service at 1:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the Charity of one’s choice.
