Shirley Ann Larson, 93, of rural Earlville, IL passed away Friday, March 10, 2023 at LaSalle Country Nursing Home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 27, 1929 in Earlville, IL the daughter of William and Hazel (Fogg) McCutchen. She married Lloyd Larson on August 22, 1948 in Harding Methodist Church. They had 67 years of marriage together. She enjoyed working on the farm, quilting, cross stich, her garden and keeping track of five rambunctious kids out on the farm. She taught knitting for the Harding 4-H Club. Shirley was her children’s greatest fan. She was well known for her yearly batch of Christmas Kringla cookies.
She is survived by one daughter, Donna (Jon) Davis of Walnut, IL, three sons, Keith (Marian) Larson of Sandwich, IL, Kenneth (Debbie) Larson of Collinsville, TX and Craig (special friend Julie Hamel) Larson of Earlville, IL; one daughter-in-law Pat Larson of Los Angeles, CA; eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lloyd, one son Curtis Lee Larson, brothers, Sherman, Bob and Harland Battles, and Leo McCutchen.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on, Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at Hanley-Turner-Eighner Funeral Home 407 S. Ottawa St. Earlville, IL with Pastor Chris Schoon officiating. Burial will follow in Harding Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 14, 2023 in the funeral home until the time of service.
