Shirley J. Hozie

Shirley J. Hozie, 92, of Plano, Illinois passed away Friday, December 25, 2015 at Hillside Rehabilitation and Care Center in Yorkville, IL. She was born October 31, 1923 in Oswego, IL the daughter of Fredrick C. and Verna Wormley Besch. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Plano, IL, where she served on the church council for 3 years, and was active in the Ruth Circle Group. She retired from Hillside Nursing Home.


She is survived by one son Bruce Kris Magnotti of Plano, IL, three grandchildren, Trevor of Vallejo, CA, Darren and Lindsay both of Plano, IL, one sister-in-law Alice Besch of Aurora, IL and several nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by parents, three husbands, James Duvick, Blase Magnotti and Joe Hozie, one son Brian D. Magnotti, one brother Norman Besch and one sister Audrey Abhalter.


Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at First Lutheran Church 200 N. Center St. Plano, IL with Rev. Bruce Booher officiating. Burial will follow in St. Pauls Lutheran Cemetery in Montgomery, IL. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 29, 2015 in the church until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be directed to the charity of one’s choice.
