Shelley Jo Kash, 58, of Leland, IL passed away Thursday, June 14, 2012 at Valley West Community Hospital in Sandwich where she was surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 26, 1953 the daughter of Norman and Joyce (Taylor) Stallbaum. After meeting at Purdue University, she married Patrick Kash on May 27, 1978 in Toledo, OH. She attended St. John’s Lutheran Church and was an active member of the Red Hat Society. Shelley was a school secretary at Prairie View Grade School in Sandwich for over twenty years. She adored working with children, and developed many friendships. It was her second home.
She is survived by her husband, Pat; three daughters, Elizabeth (Andrew) Fischer of Hopkins, MN, Joni (Graham) Nightingale of Morton, IL and Megan (David) Brue of Sheridan, IL; two grandchildren, Harper and Brady Nightingale; one sister, Robin (Scott) Lougheed of Ft. Wayne, IN; one brother, Dennis Stallbaum of Toledo, OH and several nieces and nephews. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister and friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial Service will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church of Somonauk 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 22, 2012 with Reverend Dennis Heaney officiating. Burial will follow in Little Indian Creek Cemetery Leland, IL. A luncheon will be held at the church after the committal service. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk. Memorials may be directed to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
