On July 7th, 2023, Sandra “Sandy” Stahl, 86 years old, passed away and was reunited with her love, Dave. Sandy was born on June 15th, 1937 in Iowa to Melvin and Betty Lee. She moved to Sandwich at the age of nine and was later married to Dave Stahl on June 11th, 1955. Sandy lived out her life on the Stahl family farm.
Sandy loved to sing, play piano, and was a Sunday school teacher at the Federated Church much of her life. She was a farmer’s wife, a mother, and grandmother, all of which were roles she cherished. Sandy was full of tenacity and grit and was a woman of strong beliefs. Like the love of her life, Dave, Sandy wanted her family and others to know Jesus, and as things became more difficult, she clung to the song, “One day at a time, sweet Jesus”, to remind herself and others to depend on Jesus and take things one day at a time, because the future is not known to us. Sandy was lovingly known as “Mom”, “Ma”, “Grams” and “Big Grams” by those she loved and those that loved her.
Sandy leaves behind three kids: Jerrine (Brian) McIntyre, Dave (Diane) Stahl, Dennis (Michele) Stahl, her grandchildren Erik (Gina) Carlson, Andrea (Corky) Spicer, Josh (Shannon) Stahl, Erica (Nick) Deacon, Sarah (Scott) Thomas, Lauren (Gary) Johnston, Ethan (Emily) Stahl, Aaron (Haley) Stahl, Trey Stahl, 15 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Sandy is preceded in death by her husband, Dave Stahl, her father, Melvin Lee, her mother, Betty Lee, and sister Sharon Langford.
