Sandra Lynn Harrington

Sandra Lynn Harrington, 79, passed away on August 26, 2026. Born on October 26, 1946, in Sandwich, Illinois, she was the daughter of James Rollin Sleezer and Marilyn Rita Breuer Sleezer. Sandy spent her early childhood in Millbrook before her family moved to Coyne Center. She graduated from Sherrard High School and continued her education at Ottumwa Heights College and Iowa State University.

After college, Sandy married Max Harrington, and together they returned to her grandfather’s farm in Sheridan, Illinois. Rooted deeply in her community, Sandy devoted her life to helping others. She especially cherished her work with children through the Ag in the Classroom program and her local 4‑H club, where her kindness, patience, and enthusiasm left a lasting impact.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, James and Marilyn Sleezer, her sister Sherilyn, and her brother Gary. 

She is survived by her children Ben (Lynn) Harrington and Carrie Harrington Echols; and her beloved grandchildren Riley Harrington, Meygan Echols, Elizabeth Echols, and Emily Echols. She is also survived by her sister Gail Unger, niece Hilary Hughes, nephew Ethan Unger and many cousins, friends, and neighbors. She enjoyed the company of those around her the past few years at the Reserve in Oswego and loved helping others and participating in the social gatherings. She will be laid to rest in St John’s Catholic Cemetery.
