Ruth Ann Nixon, 64, of Norway, IL passed away Monday, June 16, 2008 at her son’s homesurrounded by all her children in rural Somonauk. She was born July 17, 1943 in Connersville, IN, the daughter of Mose and Dora (Drew) Mullins.
She married Larry E. Nixon on May 14, 1960 in Alpine, Indiana. She was a member of The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses in Ottawa, IL. She enjoyed sitting on the porch enjoying nature, especially listening to thunderstorms, watching the humming birds and her dogs. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by two daughters, Sherry (Edward) Auer of Earlville, IL and Ann Nixon of Norway, IL; three sons, Mark (Mary) Nixon of Earlville, IL, Mike (Sonia) Nixon of Ottawa, IL and Tim (Nancy) Nixon of Somonauk, IL; nine grandchildren, Matthew, Charlie, Robert, Amanda, Megan, Molly, Trevor, Mark, and Allison; one great granddaughter, Brooklyn and one on the way; five sisters, Rella (Hansford) Hundley of Cincinnati, OH, Wilma Harvey of Pikeville, TN, Donna Mae Mullins, Sandra Kay (Gary) Isaacs, Margie Watson all of Connersvlle, IN; four brothers, Harmon (Mary Kay) Mullins, Stanley (Anita) Mullins, Ernie (Edna) Mullins, Marvin (Devin) Mullins all of Connersville, IN; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one sister, Ada Durim.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 19, 2008 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk, with Minister Charles Dillard officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Sandwich, IL. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family, the Kingdom Hall Quick Build Fund, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.
