Ruth Krivanek, 91, of Sandwich, Illinois passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 20, 1927 in Buchs, Switzerland the daughter of Eugene and Augusta (Bleak) Hoch. She met George while working at the switchboard on the Army Base in Esslingen, Germany. Ruth fell in love with George and they were married on June 2, 1950 in Esslingen, Germany. Their first daughter Linda was born in Germany. She was artistic and had many hobbies including oil painting, woodcarving, doll house creating, stitching which she won 1st place with at the Sandwich Fair. She was an avid cat lover. Ruth especially enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends.
She is survived by her husband, George; two daughters, Linda (Dave) Sampson of Montello, WI, and Peggy (Gary) Gerber of Wheaton, IL; three grandchildren, Jessica, David James, and Katy; two great grandchildren, Miriam and Theo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Irene Trankle; one brother, Hans Peter Hoch.
