Ruth B. Fanning, 90, of Sandwich, IL passed away Friday, February 2, 2007 at Provena McAuley Manor in Aurora. She was born March 2, 1916 in Plano, IL, the daughter of Fred and Bertha T. (Bengtson) Arvidson.
She taught country school at the Coleman School in Sandwich. She married Lawrence "Swede" Fanning on May 6, 1943 in Ft. Pierce, FL. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Sandwich.
She is survived by one son, Thomas (Tracy) Fanning of Castle Rock, CO; four daughters, Rose (Garth) Vince of Kissimmee, FL, Mary Jane (Robert) Berlucchi of Virginia Beach, VA, Sue (Andrew) Krause of Naperville, IL, and Pat (Thomas) Jarchow of Aurora, IL; thirteen grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1992; her parents; two sisters, Ebba Stahl and Marian Eriksson; and one brother, Bengt Arvidson.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 10, 2007 at Salem Lutheran Church in Sandwich with Rev. Carol S. Gates officiating. Burial will follow at St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Somonauk. Visitation will be from 9:30 until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 10, 2007.
