Rosemarie "Rosie" Fahrlander

Rosemarie “Rosie” Fahrlander, 73, of Yorkville passed away Friday, September 14, 2012 at home surrounded by her family; after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born December 8, 1938 the daughter of Samuel Rodriguez and Rose Rodriguez-Green. She married Dennis L. Fahrlander in May of 1961. Rose proudly graduated Mooseheart in Aurora, IL in 1958. In the 1960’s she was employed at City Hall Pharmacy in downtown Aurora, IL as a clerk. She spent many years at home taking care of her children before going to work at Safari Market Deli for 12 years. Rose always had a cookie or a slice of cheese ready for her young friends. Throughout the 1970’s she spent an uncountable amount of hours fundraising door -to-door and with school to raise funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Rose spent her entire life caring for others; truly an angel. She spent much of her free time taking care of her grandchildren. Rose was an avid walker, traveling to state parks and walking many miles, with her husband weekly. Her kind ways and gentleness will be deeply missed.

Rosemarie was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Dennis L. Fahrlander of Yorkville; two daughters: Denise Schiltz of Plano and Debbie Thomas of Yorkville; one son: Dennis Fahrlander of Plano; three grandchildren: Allison and Ryan Thomas of Yorkville and Hillary Schiltz of Elmhurst.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her twin sister Liz Chapman and her brother Joe Rodriguez.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 21, 2012 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Plano, IL. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
