Rory S. Brown, 50, of Plano, IL passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at his sister’s home in Sandwich. He was born December 2, 1959 in Aurora, IL, the son of William and Dora (Ratterree) Brown.
He was formerly employed as a heavy equipment operator for Naperville Excavating and the City of Plano in the street department. He was currently employed by Little Rock Township doing road maintenance for the past 13 years. Rory was a member of United Methodist Church of Plano and Sandwich Moose Lodge #1016 and enjoyed fishing, cooking, sports, especially the Bears, and loved spending quality time with his family and friends.
Rory is survived by his parents, William and Dora Brown of Sandwich; one brother, Rex Brown of Plano; one sister, Joni (Joe) Barry of Sandwich; four nephews, Ryan (Jennifer Haynie) Salemi, Nick Salemi, Jake Barry and Justin (Stephanie) Barry; one niece, Lindsay (Justin) Van Deusen; one great nephew, Austin Salemi all of Sandwich; several aunts, uncles, cousins and many close friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 22, 2010 at United Methodist Church of Plano with Rev. Christina Vosteen officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 am on Friday at the church. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
