Ronald F. Wells, 83, of Yorkville, IL passed away Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL. He was born June 14, 1933 in Chicago, IL, the son of Clarence D. and Gladys E. Wells. He married Marianne Britt on September 24, 1983 in Aurora, IL. Ron was a member of the Millbrook United Methodist Church and proudly served in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1959. He graduated from East Aurora High School in 1951 and in 1964, Ron become the 1st night school graduate of Aurora University. During his military service, Ron served on a patrol frigate and destroyer during the Korean War with the 7th Fleet. Ron employed by Western Electric-management and AT&T in Chicago and Norway, IL. Ron was awarded the Korean Medal, China Service Medal, and a Good Conduct Medal before earning his honorable discharge. In his free time, Ron loved wood working but most of all, he enjoyed his family.
He is survived by his wife, Marianne Tia of Yorkville, IL; two sons, Kenton Tanya Price and Dane Autumn Price; two daughters, Jayne Dan Smith and Inga Todd Koontz; six grandchildren, Kyleigh, Collin, Landon, and Beckett Price, and Cody and Mica Koontz; one brother-in-law, Bob Peggy Britt; three sisters-in-law, Hattie Wells, Kelly Britt, and Janis Mike Rogers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, DeWayne Wells and Gerald Wells, and his brother-in-law, John C. Britt.
Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Millbrook United Methodist Church in Millbrook with Pastor Stevan Saunders officiating. Burial will be at a later date at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at the church in Millbrook.
