Ronald R. McGlasson, 68, of Sheridan, IL passed away, Sunday, January 29, 2012 at Provena Mercy Center Hospital in Aurora. He was born February 8, 1943 in Pittsfield, IL, the son of Virgil and Frances (Duff) McGlasson. He married Josephine Harrell on December 24, 1971 in Plano, IL. He was a Veteran of the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict.
Ron was a truck driver for 45 years, retiring in 2004. He was a member of the Pittsfield United Methodist Church, ARRL Amateur Radio and the National Rifle Association.
Ron is survived by his wife, Josephine McGlasson of Sheridan; one son, Marty McGlasson of Ladd, IL; one daughter, Melody (Randy) Inman of Huntsville, IL; two grandchildren, Jacob and Jacquelynn Brewer of Earlville, IL; one sister, Karen Stack of Dallas, TX and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew, Michael Bagby.
According to Ron’s wishes, graveside services will be held at a later date at Sapp Cemetery in Summerhill, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to both the Somonauk and Sheridan Food Pantries, Our Sharing Pantry, 235 S. Green Street Somonauk, IL 60552 and Sheridan Food Pantry 219 Bushnell Sheridan, IL 60551.
