Ronald E. "Bud" Habbe Sr, age 78 of Sandwich IL passed peacefully on Thursday January 18th, 2024. After his long battle with Parkinson's Disease. Ronald was born on February 25, 1945 in Effingham, IL, son of Junior and Bernita (Schoonover) Habbe. Ronald was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church, Louisville, IL. To all family and friends, which started when he was a young boy, his name was "Buddy" or "Bud" which he carried throughout his life. Bud was united in marriage to Annette (Hawkins) Habbe on July 3rd, 1964. Bud was no stranger to striking up conversation about his hot rods or muscle cars. Bud enjoyed going to car shows, camping, hunting, and going to truck pulls. Bud drove trucks for many years; while living at Mallard Bend, Sheridan IL in the warmer months then snowbirds at Oakcrest Mobile Home Park, Largo FL.
Bud is survived by wife, Annette; two children, Ron (Karen ) Habbe Jr. of Newark IL, Joannie (Jim) Martin of Sandwich, IL; four grandchildren, Nick (Mollie) Habbe, Kristin (Justin) Gifford, Cody (Trevor) Lawrence-Sheehan, and Alexa Lawrence (Brandon) ; five great grandchildren, Faith Gifford, Easton Habbe, Grant Habbe, Annie Gifford and his little sidekick, Azaryah Moore. Bud is survived by a sister, Deanna (Greg) Hamilton, of Flora IL; four special nieces that thought Uncle Bud was pretty awesome, Kimberly (Jordan) Robey, Julie (Ashton) Byrd, Lisa (Jeremy) Wallace, and Heather (Clayton) Irvin; as well as many cousins, in-laws, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be January 27th 2024 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Services will be led by Greg Hamilton his brother-in-law at 3:30 p.m. at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk, IL
