Ronald E. "Ron" Flower

Ronald E. “Ron” Flower, 78, of Leland, IL passed away Thursday, December 14, 2017 at his home. He was born April 9, 1939 in Aurora, IL, the son of Earle and Inez “Sally” Lull Flower. He married Eileen Lynch Dulin on November 10, 1973 in Leland, IL. Ron was confirmed at Bethany Lutheran Church. He was a member of Leland American Legion Post 570 and Sandwich Moose Lodge. Ronald was a veteran of the US Marine Corps., where he was a scuba diver. He enjoyed hunting, Minnesota Viking football, playing cards, and having coffee and donuts at the Legion with his many friends.
He is survived by his wife, Eileen of Leland, IL; his children, Gary Lynne Dulin of Monmouth, IL and Kelly Dulin of Chicago, IL; three grandchildren, Madelyn, Riley, and Meredith Dulin; one sister, Carole Donald “Pete Niles of Hinckley, IL and four step siblings; two nieces, Kelly Henry Schmidt of Johnsburg, IL and Tracy Tom Limbrunner of Sugar Grove, IL; one nephew, Peter Rita Niles of Hinckley, IL; several great nieces and great nephews; and his special companion, his dog, Eli.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his step parents, Jeff Pederson and Vicky Flower.
Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Leland, IL with Pastor Zach Baer officiating. Burial will be at a later date at Leland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 until the time of service at 12:00 noon at the church in Leland. A luncheon will follow the service in the church basement. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Leland American Legion Post 570.
