Roberta Legner Larson

Roberta L. Larson, 88, of Sandwich, IL formerly of Leland, IL passed away Monday, February 2, 2015 at her residence. She was born May 4, 1926 in Waterman, IL the daughter of Fred Scott and Bessie Olga (Montague) Legner. She married Norman Larson on November 16, 1944 in Leland. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Leland, the Eastern Star, and the Leland Junior Women’s Club. Roberta enjoyed painting, and was a member of the Sandwich Art League. She took great pride in her generations of involvement in the family farm.

She is survived by one son, Jeffrey (Vicki) Larson of Sterling, IL; one daughter, Jacquelin (Larry) Dannewitz of Sandwich, IL; one sister, Mary (Gary) Leonard of Leland; four grandchildren, Jason Larson and Jodie Larson, Lauren (Daniel) Hoyt and Drew (Ashleigh) Dannewitz; five great grandchildren, Blake, Olivia, Isabella, Charlotte and Caden.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one brother, Charles E. Legner.

Private funeral services will be held at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk with Chuck Miller officiating. Burial will be in Leland Cemetery in Leland, IL. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday February 6, 2015 at the funeral home in Somonauk. Memorials may be directed to Unity Hospice or the Charity of one’s choice.
