Robert E. “Rob” Henczel, 44, of Earlville passed away suddenly as the result of an auto accident. He was born September 10, 1974 in Houston, TX, the son of Larry and Peggy (Weatherly) Swonke and raised by David and Peggy Henczel. A dream of Rob’s was to sky dive, he finally did it and “it was awesome!” Rob loved working in construction, working with his hands.
He is survived by his parents, Peggy of Earlville, IL, Larry (Sandra) of TX, and David of Yorkville, IL; his grandmother, Janice Weatherly of Manhattan, IL; one daughter, Katherine Elizabeth Zacek of TN; two sisters, Angela Henczel of Princeton, IL and Melissa Swonke of TX; three brothers, Charlie Henczel of Aurora, IL, Daniel Swonke of TX, and Christopher Swonke of TX; one stepsister, Kelly Handrick of NC; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded his grandfather, Howard E. Weatherly and his stepfather, Jeff Parkins.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at Hanley-Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Earlville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family. For more information or to sign the online guest book, go to
