Robert E. Jones, 49, of Latham, IL. passed away Thursday, May 23, 2013 at his home after a short battle with heart problems. He was born February 5, 1964 in Clinton, IL the son of Clifford and Connie (Malone) Jones. He married Lynette Simmons on October 2, 1992 in Yorkville, IL. Robert was a graduate of Clinton High School and worked several years as a welder until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, his family and his greatest love was his wife Lynette.
He is survived by one brother, Brian (Aimee) Jones of Clinton, IL; two aunts, Wilma Mestinsek of Clinton, IL, Maryann (Merle) Hoback of Forsyth, IL; mother-in-law, Norma Simmons of Sandwich; two sister-in-laws, Debra Hanback of Sandwich, IL, Lisa (Dan) Gudmunson of Somonauk; brother-in-law, Gary (Kathy) Simmons of Hudsonville, MI; ten special nieces and nephews, Christina and Amber Keeling, Ryan Hanback, Andrew Hanback, Lindsay (Simmons) Bohl, Mark Simmons, Michael Gudmunson, Jessica Gudmunson, Brenna and Autumn Jones and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, his mother, wife Lynette, brother-in-law David Hanback.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk, IL with Pastor Michele Prentice-Leslie officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Sandwich. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service on May 28, 2013, at the funeral home in Somonauk. Memorials may be directed to American Diabetes Association.
