Robert J. "Bob" Johnson

Robert J. “Bob” Johnson, 84, of Somonauk, IL passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Valley West Hospital in Sandwich, IL. He was born November 13, 1933 in Somonauk, IL the son of Alvin and Anna (Haas) Johnson. He married Barbara I. Darnell on October 1, 1953 in Plano, IL. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Somonauk, IL. Bob drove a cement truck for Tri-County Concrete of Sandwich, IL for over 20 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and most of all spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of almost 65 years, Barbara of Somonauk, IL; one son Jeffrey (Bonnie) Johnson of Newark, IL; one daughter, Becky (Kevin) Anderson of Gold Canyon, Arizona; eight grandchildren, Kyle (Jessica) Rumney, Aaron Rumney, Anna (Frank) Melendez, Jill (Jeff) Johnson, Jay Teckenbrock, Eric (Amanda) Anderson, Nicki (Quentin) Cather, and Kristi (Edward) Havlicek; fourteen great grandchildren; one sister, Betty (Lherif) Loraamm of Florida, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Emma June Johnson and Marilyn Sue Johnson; one brother, Milton Johnson.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 23, 2018 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Somonauk, IL, with Rev. William C. Weidenbach, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Somonauk, IL. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk, IL. Memorials may be directed to St. John’s Lutheran Church in Somonauk, IL or to The Open Door Rehabilitation Center in Sandwich, IL.
