Robert John Hrouda Sr.

Robert John Hrouda Sr., 78, of Somonauk, IL passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 7, 2021 at his home. He was born August 7, 1942 in Chicago, IL the son of Frank and Margaret (Partak) Hrouda. He married Sandra Lynn Karel on October 6, 1962 in Berwyn, IL. He was a member of Somonauk Baptist Church. Robert loved the outdoors, walking his dog (Daisy), and reading. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Sandra Lynn Hrouda of Somonauk, IL; one daughter Karen (Ted) Kowalczyk of Somonauk, IL; daughter-in-law Renee Hrouda of Troutdale, Oregon; 4 grandchildren Casey (Nathan) Keane, Evan Hrouda, Brooke Kowalczyk, and Levi Kowalczyk; one sister Sharon (Bruce) Karel of Naperville, IL; one brother Frank Hrouda of Lombard, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Robert Jr.
Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 12, 2021 at Somonauk Baptist Church in Somonauk, IL with Pastor David Johnson officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Somonauk Baptist Church, or Illinois Valley Animal Rescue. The Memorial Service will be Livestreamed on, Somonauk Baptist Church Facebook page.
