Robert Glen Martin, 85, of Plano, IL passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at his residence in Plano. He was born December 18, 1930 in Buckhannon, WV, the son of Willie and Breatrice Smith Martin. He married Janice Bohn on February 27, 1965 in North Aurora, IL. Glen was employed by Monarch Foundry for several years, also he owned and operated Martin Motors for over 25 years and was a fixture in the Plano Community.
He is survived by his loving wife Janice of Plano, four daughters, Terri Cutsinger of Whitesburg, TN, Glenna Jay Martin and Diana Junior Metcalf both of Plano, IL and Joey Lyn Scott Goldman of Hamilton, AL; two sons, David Cindi Martin of Morristown, TN and Jeffrey Silvia Martin of Plano, IL; 31 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren; one sister Barbara Bob Shores of Virden, IL and one brother James Nancy Martin of Plano, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two daughters, Connie Newberry and Cindy Holiday, one son Robert “Mike” Martin, two granddaughters, Julie Schultz and Lisa Todd, two sisters, Betty Johnson and Mabel Winemiller.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, June 24, 2016 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Plano, IL, with Valerie Johnston officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. on Friday, June 24, 2016 at the funeral home until the time of service at 7:00 p.m. Graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 25, 2016 in Little Rock Township Cemetery in Plano.
