Robert C. Fremer, 81, of Sandwich passed away Monday, September 28, 2015 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 16, 1934 in Chicago, IL, the son of Albert and Loretta (Schafer) Fremer. He married Joann Stoeckel on February 14, 1986 in Naperville, IL. Robert was a US Navy Veteran, serving from 1953 to 1957 during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed boating, fishing, model building, electronics, watching the Bear’s play but his greatest love of all was his family.
He is survived by his wife, Joann of Sandwich; three daughters, Lori (Dan) Richardson of Renton, WA, Joann (Bill) Lawlor of Sandwich, IL and Sandra (Todd) Miller of Indianapolis, IN; one son, Brian (Pam Pyle) Lucas of Romeoville, IL; five grandchildren, Jessica (Keith) Smith, Julie (Devon Davis) Manos, Bailey Chandler, O’Ryan Lawlor and Elyssa Pyle; three great grandsons, Jacob, Brayden and X’Zavior; two brothers, Albert (Rose) Fremer of MI and William (Mary Jo) Fremer of FL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Mary Ann Greathouse, one brother, George Fremer.
Memorial Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 4, 2015 at Burkhart-Eighner Funeral Home in Sandwich with Pastor James Barbey officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service on Sunday, October 4 at the funeral home in Sandwich. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Kishwaukee Hospice.
